Brandon Joyner
Lead Pastor
Pastor Brandon moved to Chapel Hill with his wife, Ilene, at the end of 2017. Together, they began holding services at Smith Middle School in January 2018. On September 23, 2018, The Chapel was officially "born" with 19 charter members. Pastor Brandon and Ilene came to Chapel Hill with one purpose—to see people discover the hope that only Jesus offers.
In his free time, Pastor Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, attending UNC football and basketball games, fishing, and camping.

Bryce Hamilton
Executive Pastor
Pastor Bryce and his wife, Jaynie, moved to Chapel Hill from Wisconsin in 2021 to help with the new church plant. As Executive Pastor, Bryce oversees our ministry leaders, leads our Life Groups and Wednesday evening Bible Study, and assists Pastor Brandon with preaching.

Christine Snell
Executive Assistant and Children's Director
Christine joined the church staff in 2022 and was one of The Chapel's original charter members. After serving for many years on the mission field, she continues to pour herself into the ministry by helping keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly. In addition, she oversees all of our children's ministries that take place on Sundays and Wednesday evenings.

Dominique Bailey
Nursery Coordinator
Dominique and her husband, Charlie, began attending The Chapel while they were engaged. They faithfully jumped in and began serving wherever they could. Pastor Brandon had the privilege of baptizing Charlie as well as leading them through premarital counseling.
In 2025, Dominique became our Nursery Coordinator. In this role, she ensures that our children ages two and under are well cared for during our Sunday and Wednesday evening services.

Ilene Joyner
Worship Director
Among her many responsibilities as a pastor's wife, one of Ilene's primary roles is leading our congregation in worship during our Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.
Church Residency Program
One of the responsibilities of the local church is preparing men and women for future ministry. Our Church Residency Program exists to train men who feel called into full-time ministry. This three-year program is designed to prepare each resident for the pastorate through leadership training, ministry development, preaching opportunities, and hands-on ministry experience.

Xander Heacox
Church Resident (College Ministry and Facilities)
Xander was saved and baptized at The Chapel while attending UNC Chapel Hill as an undergraduate student. During his time in college, God called Xander into ministry. He officially began The Chapel's Church Residency Program in June 2026 and currently serves in our College Ministry and Facilities Ministry.

Noah Helbling
Church Resident (Teen Ministry and Media)
Noah and his wife, Stephanie, began attending The Chapel in 2021 and have faithfully served the Lord since becoming part of our church family. In 2025, they began serving together in the Teen Ministry. In June 2026, Noah officially joined the church staff as a Church Resident, where he now serves in Teen Ministry and Media.
